She uses texture and spontaniety to create paintings with a palette knife as well as brushes.
“The natural beauty of my native Vermont has been perhaps the greatest influence on my art. I enjoy painting views of the landscape near my home in very vivid, lush colors, many times more intense than seen in nature. I use the palette knife and brush energetically for a more spontaneous result. I try to capitalize on the special “accidents” and properties of the oils or acrylics to come up with an exciting, textural, impressionistic and often abstracted painting of nature’s shapes and seasons.”
