Past Artist: Robert Chaperon Jr.

Born in Texas, Robert has been a Swanton residence since 1970. He went to high school at MVU, studied electrical engineering at UVM.

Robert’s interest in photography started in 2003, when he started hiking the many trails in Vermont and New York. Being awakened to the natural beauty that nature presents us, he felt a sensation within that he wanted to share with others through photography.

These sensations include the cool spray of a waterfall splashing ones face on a hot summer day or standing on a mountain top observing the colors and reflections of the sun setting over a lake in the west.

Bob’s photographing knowledge comes from reading many books and with much practice. His engineering education has allowed him to easily learn the technical part of digital photography.

The most important part of being an artist of photography for bob is expressing his inner feelings while having fun. Bob believes fine art photography should touch and draw from our emotions.

Bob’s Photographs

Bob’s uses Canon’s top of the line DSLR with a number of different professional lenses and filters. He does not stop with just taking the photo. Every photo is shot in the RAW format and then edited with Adobes Light Room or CS4. The RAW format is not processed, thus still has all the original data as seen by the camera.

Bob takes pride in his work and has recently turned to Miller’s Professional Imaging for high quality prints with a lustre coating for superior protection and visibly enhancement. All of his framed work includes TRU-VUE glass to protect the print from fading.

All of Bobs prints are of the silver halide base. There is a difference in inkjet prints and a quality photo lab’s silver halide base print. Silver halide base prints are processed through the same chemicals as the old film pictures, and are archival. The chemical process does not run or bleed. You will also notice even colors across the entire print.
