Clair is experimenting with combining her photography of local scenes with digital manipulation to create images that offer familiarity in subject matter, but invite reconsideration because of their rendering. She is also intrigued by the cell phone’s “always on” ability to capture images anytime, anywhere.
We, in Franklin County, live in an area redolent with an abundance of rural urban and classic rural Vermont images.
Beckoning roads in the evening light. Small scale structures which can evoke nostalgic memories. And all of these available in the light and weather of our four distinct seasons.
The size of the finished print and kind of manipulation she does are intended to create an intimacy of contact with the particular scene. Signed prints of each image are limited to ten, and are framed with archival materials.
Clair is a member of the St. Albans Artists’ Guild and a constant presence here at the STAART Gallery. Her “day job” is that of a web site designer specializing in sites for artists and other discerning clients.
