Music for Friday

Friday night’s reception will feature music from Substation 7 otherwise known as Clement Yonkers.  See below for more info on his music. Can’t wait!

Substation 7, a.k.a. Clement Yonkers, plays solo guitar using live looping techniques.  Substation 7’s ambient set is an abstract, free form exploration of contemplative sound.  By combining sound textures, atmospheric melodic lines, and an occasional down-tempo groove, the partly improvised ambient set is a mellow and yet creatively complex experience.  “It is a reaction to my felt environments and an action to transform those experiences out of image and emotion and into contemplative sound.” Indeed, the Substation7 version of ambient exists outside of our preconceived notions of what more traditional musical forms bind us to.  “My ambient music is a process of opening up to, acknowledging, and experimenting with sonic possibilities.”  Substation7 presents a truly reflective, meditative ambient music event.
